Catalog Description: This course provides the student with an understanding of security issues pertaining to privacy and ethics, as well as instruction and practice of forensics skills. As this is an independent study course, the students will have access to a set of lectures and are expected to work independently to learn that material for the class.

Course Objectives: The major objective of the course is to provide a broad introduction to Information Security & Privacy, Ethics and Computer Forensics technologies, processes and methods through reading and understanding provided class lectures and remote discussion as well as limited hands-on instruction in the classroom. The student will be expected to demonstrate basic knowledge of the principles discussed in the lectures.
Methods of Instruction: This is an Independent Study course
Student Evaluation: A final student grade will be based on the a final test that will be given to students at the end of the semester.
Grading Policy: A
(100-90%), B+ (89-86), B (85-80%), C+ (79-76%), C (75-70%),
D (69-60%), F (<60%)
Class Policies - The student is expected to be familiar with

Cheating
Policy: Please refer to the Student
Handbook. Cheating will not be tolerated
and will result in a zero (0) for that particular test or assignment and may
result in a grade of “F” for the course.
Lab
Policy:
1.
No smoking/eating/drinking in
computer labs. This is official school
policy and is strictly enforced.
Violations may result in suspension of lab privileges.
2.
Misuse of any nature of any of
the lab equipment will not be tolerated and may result in loss of lab
privileges.
